Week 8 Outlook

Greetings from SMI! We’ve had some INCREDIBLE swims this weekend! Thank you to all of the parents who volunteered and made sure kids were where they needed to be!

Hard to believe we are nearing the end of the season! Read below for this week’s happenings:

Final Dual Meet of the Season - Tuesday, July 14th vs. USC at HOME!

IF YOU ARE NOT ENTERED INTO THIS MEET AND YOU WILL BE THERE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW NO LATER THAN 9 PM TONIGHT. We are going to do a theme night for our last meet - HAWAIIAN! Wear your Hawaiian shirts, straw hats, leis, hula skirts, etc! We will have a fun post-meet celebration at the conclusion of the meet. Stick around for some pool time and popsicles! I will send the heat sheet on Monday once the meet is merged. We still need an 8u boys round-up. Please sign up for that job if you are able.

City Meet

I will begin entries for City following the USC meet on Tuesday. If your child wants to swim something specific, please let me know. Reminder that swimmers are required to swim in at least two meets to be eligible for City Meet, so if they don’t meet that requirement by Tuesday, they will not be entered into the meet. Quick announcement about big meets: if someone decides not to come last minute, it is almost impossible to rearrange relays day-of. If your child is on a relay, PLEASE ensure they are at the meet. Absences affect the three other swimmers on a relay, and they may not be eligible to swim in an alternate event.
